Decades later, she wrote a book, My Dad, the Babe, claiming that she was Ruth's biological child by a girlfriend named Juanita Jennings. After Helen Ruth died in a house fire in January 1929, Dorothy moved in with Ruth and his girlfriend, Claire Hodgson, whom he married that April. She married Daniel J.
